The American Heart Association is a national voluntary health agency to help reduce disability and death from cardiovascular diseases and stroke. The AHA was founded in 1924 and since has been at the forefront of cardiovascular science, cardiovascular education and community programs. A majority of cardiac arrest victims occur outside the hospital i.e. at home or place of work. Which means if the situation arises that you will need to do CPR it will be on someone you know or even love. This is why it is important that everyone learns CPR and is not afraid to use it.
