This course incorporates the OSHA Machinery and Machine Guarding Standards and outlines the process to identify, select and adequately safeguard machinery to protect employees and others in the work area and deliver suitable training in safe work practices. Student will learn that:

Any machine part, function, or process which may cause injury must be safeguarded
When the operation of a machine or accidental contact with it can hurt the operator or others in the vicinity
Hazards must be either controlled or eliminated
Even the most extensive safeguarding system cannot offer adequate protection unless a worker knows how to use it and why
