AHA102 ACLS Instructor – Advanced Cardiac Life Support Instructor- Initial

The Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) Instructor Essentials Course prepares candidates to teach AHA ACLS Provider courses. It trains students to use AHA teaching materials, meet learning objectives, coach students, evaluate skills objectively, and follow AHA policies. The course includes core and discipline-specific content needed for teaching AHA courses.

The ACLS Instructor Course is designed for candidates who wish to train individuals that may encounter cardiac emergencies in their professional roles. This includes healthcare professionals such as doctors, nurses, paramedics, respiratory therapists, and other providers who might manage cardiac arrest or other cardiovascular events. Other professionals who need ACLS training include first responders, police officers, firefighters, and emergency personnel who are often the first on the scene during a cardiac emergency. Additionally, healthcare students—such as those in medical, nursing, or allied health programs—frequently require ACLS certification as part of their training or to enhance their qualifications for future clinical responsibilities.

The ACLS Instructor Course is taught in a blended learning format. For successful completion, instructor candidates must complete course prerequisites and requirements:
